To Send Brett and His Family to This House

Earlier in the year, I applied for a residency through the Maine College of Art, where I did my undergrad work. The artist Stephen Pace bequeathed his summer home to the school to be used as a residency.
About a week ago, I was notified about my acceptance into the residency and am currently planning for my two weeks’ stay which begins on July 10th.
Part of what made this residency so appealing to me is that it allows the full participation of families at the house during the artist’s stay. I have never applied to residencies because I can’t really leave my family for such a long period of time, at least while Elanor is so young. Being able to bring Kathleen and Elanor along is a huge blessing and also an asset to my practice, as they are both integral parts of the work that I do.
So, in an effort to raise funds to finance our trip to Maine, I am offering a limited edition print of my photograph The Emerging Artist for a mere $50, shipping included.
Money raised will go to the paying of a few specific things:
1. Airfare for all three of us to Boston, plus a rental car for the rest of the distance north to Stonington, on Deer Isle. Airfare alone is looking to be about $1500 bucks.
2. Paying our rent and utilities in San Francisco while we are away. I’m going to be taking 2 weeks of time away from my day job, and as great as the day job is, I don’t get vacation time.
3. Lastly, any remaining funds will go towards food and general living expenses while we are there, as well as a few basic supplies for art making.
I am producing an edition of 100 plus 4 artist proofs of my photograph The Emerging Artist in a 10×10 size. I normally make most of my prints 30×30; this will be a limited, one-time offer at this smaller size. The print will be $50, shipping included. All orders placed on or before July 1st will be shipped before we leave for Maine on July 8th. Any remaining orders will be shipped after we return.
To purchase the print send me $50 through Paypal:
If you don’t want to spend $50 bucks on a half-naked photo of Brett emerging from a hole in his backyard but you still want to throw down some money in the name of art and lobster, you can make a donation here:
